Middle East can be summarized as the Bipolar disorder of the West, as US and Europe take diagrammatically opposite roles, on almost all political aspects. The US in particular, is responsible for the "pole reversals", which appear to be the culprit for disturbing the stability.
The most immediate questions on the minds of most people are "when & how" the stability can be restored. Ofcourse most people are happy, if stability is "somehow" restored. In "what way & at what cost", the stability would be restored, are critical for its prolonged sustenance, lest the painstaking policies adopted, could end up as just another iteration, to an unending dilemma.
The lack of unanimity, is a clear indication of "troubles that lay ahead", and may be seen as a recommendation of a compromise. Like in the case of a ship on high seas, what is a "good thing" is not clearly defined in politics, so timely compromises are always beneficial, and less troublesome, than utter rigidity.
